How to make Tapioca Pearls | Boba pearls | tapioca pearls from scratch (homemade)
Here are the Ingredients:
2 cups tapioca starch(cassava starch)
1/2 cup brown sugar(+extra 1/4 cup)
2/3 cup water
Procedure:
1) Bring water to a boil
2) Dissolve brown sugar
3) Turn the heat off
4) Gradually add tapioca starch and mix well
5) Transfer dough onto the counter top
6) Knead until smooth and not sticky. *be careful dough is slightly hot
7) Cut dough into 9 parts
8) Form into logs. *slightly wet the dough if dry
9) Cut into small pieces(about 1/2 inch)
10)Form into small balls
11)Place it in a bowl with starch
12)Repeat steps for the remaining dough
13)Bring 1 liter of water(more if needed) to a boil
14)Gently pour tapioca pearls into the water and stir
15)Cook for 30-45 min.
16)Let it sit covered for another 15 minutes
17)After 15 minutes remove the tapioca pearls
18)Rinse pearls in running water
19)Add 2 tbsp brown sugar and mix well to prevent pearls from clumping together
